8 Common Mistakes Every Blogger Should Avoid

In my previous article I post about “How to be Become a Successful Blogger?” & today I m writing about “8 Common Mistakes Every Blogger Should Avoid”.

Blogging is a wonderful way to communicate with online users. You can share anything via blogging medium. It also helps us to make money online with Google Adsense, if you know the basic of making money with blogging. As a newbie blogger, everyone tends to do mistake as I have done when I started my first blog few years back. But I have learned from them and I am not repeating the same mistakes again now. In this article, I am sharing the mistakes I have done and how to avoid them to become a successful blogger.

1. Navigation: - Now days the webmasters are showing much interest in SEO (Search Engine Optimization). They focus on optimizing their websites for spiders like Google, Yahoo, etc. and forgot that humans also crawl their site. This focus often results in bad navigation system for their website.

2. Not Updating your Blog Regularly: - Updating your blog regularly is the key to success in blogging, in short your blog success if your success in blogging. When your visitors come back to read your blog, every time they want some new contents to read not the same existing content again and again. If you don’t update your blog with new contents then you will lose your visitors. Lots of bloggers used to start-up well by writing new contents and updating their blog regularly but after some time they tend to miss these things. This is a series mistake to avoid if you want to become a successful blogger.

3. Using Too Many Advertisements: - Blogging can help you to make money online. But if you think that you can earn money overnight by placing too many advertisements in your blog, right at the start of your blogging career, you will get nothing since it will irritate your visitors. I am not against placing advertisements in your blog, but keep it in minimum numbers until you get the exposure and credibility. After you get these two, place as many advertisements as you want but place them in the right place.

4. Pop up message like “Subscribe us” or “Special offers”: - This is the mistake made by new webmasters. These webmasters shower the visitors with pop ups. Whenever they see some new scripts on Internet, they use it in their websites. It irritates your visitor/users and also increases loading time of your site.

5. Embed videos that start without playing the PLAY button: - This option is called as auto play. We know most of the visitors have limited bandwidth. Additional video data you force your visitors to download gets directly transformed into anger they feel toward your site/blog. They most probably close your website rather than searching for a pause button.

6. Cluttered slow loading sites: - Does your site load in 3-5 seconds? Otherwise remove all the useless widgets and change your theme to a normal one. Also remove the useless flash and JavaScript’s from your website/blog.

7. Not responding to comments: - This is one big mistake, most newbie bloggers are still doing. As I mentioned in the starting, blogging is a way to interact with online users. Your blog readers comment in your blog only to connect with you. If you don’t respond to their because of your busy schedule, then you will lose them. So my suggestion is, if you can’t reply to your visitors comment with 24-48 hours, better remove the comments section from your blog, because your reader will probably move away from your blog if his comment remain unanswered after that time.

8. Not Being Persistent: - The very common mistake newbie bloggers make is that they give up early. If you want to be a successful blogger, then you should be persistent. All the successful bloggers of today are once newbie’s. They never bothered about their earnings at the start, but they are earning more now. So don’t expect to be a millionaire overnight because there is no such thing as “instant success” in blogging. Always keep this mind, Hard work and patience are the key to be successful in blogging.
These are the mistakes I have done in my early days of my blogging career which every newbie’s should avoid. Still there are plenty more mistakes every newbie’s should need to avoid, but following the above will surely make you a successful blogger with a rocking blog.
